Lauren and Josh’s bridal session at Albion Basin in Alta, Utah was an absolute dream. Located at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon, Albion Basin is one of the prettiest mountain locations in Utah and an incredible setting for wedding and bridal portraits.
Lauren had always dreamed of having her portraits taken in a wildflower field, and she got exactly what she envisioned. We photographed their first look and wedding portraits in July during peak wildflower season, when the mountains were green, the wildflowers were at their most beautiful, and the views were absolutely breathtaking.

A First Look in the Utah Wildflowers
One of my favorite parts of Lauren and Josh’s session was their first look. They got to see each other for the first time surrounded by wildflowers and the mountains of Alta, creating such a beautiful and intimate start to their portraits.
After their first look, we explored Albion Basin and took advantage of all the beautiful scenery. Their gallery is filled with genuine smiles, laughter, sweet moments, and timeless portraits.
I always want wedding portraits to feel natural rather than overly posed. Giving couples time to slow down, enjoy each other, and take in the moment creates some of my favorite photographs.
Albion Basin Wildflowers in Alta, Utah
Albion Basin sits at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon near Alta and Snowbird, and it is especially well known for its incredible summer wildflowers.
Lauren and Josh’s portraits took place in July at peak wildflower season, and the timing could not have been better. The fields were bursting with color, the mountains were lush and green, and the views were incredible in every direction.

Lauren’s dress from Pritchett Bridal was the perfect combination of classic and timeless. The elegant style looked beautiful against the wild landscape and gave the portraits a polished feel while still allowing the natural scenery to shine.
Her colorful bouquet from Love A Little Floral added the perfect pop of color. Lauren wanted her wedding to feel classy and colorful, and those details carried beautifully into her bridal portraits.
I love how the colorful flowers played off the wildflowers throughout Albion Basin. The entire session felt romantic, colorful, and timeless.
